So, let’s talk money!
If you’re eligible, you could receive £7,500 towards your new low carbon heating system, this is either an air or ground source heat pump. You don’t need to formally apply, your selected installer will know if you meet the scheme's criteria and they will deduct the grant amount upfront before providing you with a quote. Once the installer has applied and been provided with the funds, they can begin the installation! The BUS scheme is open homeowners and small business owners across the UK, eligibility will require:
- Full ownership of the property.
- A traditional, fossil fueled heating system - like a gas boiler.
- A valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) - this will need to be no more than ten
years old. - A property with a maximum installation capacity of 45kWth.
- The installer to be MCS accredited.
